Keep track of your AI work.

Use Claude Cowork, Codex, Gemini, Cursor and more. Cowork Island keeps your sessions and requests in view at the top of your Mac.

  1. Give your AI a task.

    For example, in Claude Cowork:
Turn my meeting notes into a weekly update.

  2. See how it’s going.

Follow progress while you work in other apps, and see when a session “Needs you”.

  3. Keep track of finished work.

Review the result, then mark the session Done in your Island list.

How do I start?

Download and open Cowork Island, follow its permission prompts, then use a supported AI tool as usual.

  1. Monitor.

Follow sessions at the top of your Mac. Expand Weekly summary to read a session excerpt, then close the excerpt. Three cells beneath the Astra parent show its subagents; one finishes while the parent continues. Account meters show illustrative consumed usage.

  2. Approve.

A separate Claude Code action requests permission while the Island is compact. Allow once approves that action and the session continues.

  3. Answer.

One supported Claude Code question offers three choices. Selecting one option submits the answer immediately. Dismiss would leave a request unanswered; Deny would refuse it.

  4. Organize.

Reorder Weekly summary and Action items in their project. Mark Meeting notes Done in the separate Codex app group, prioritize Action items, then fold and reopen the active project. While it is folded, switch Working visibility off. Done is reversible metadata and does not stop an agent. Island ordering does not move files or source panes.

  5. Filter.

Continue with the same order and marks. Reveal Working sessions, show and clear the Priority lens, then enable Focus to hide the group containing the completed Meeting notes session. Filters change visibility, not execution. Working and Priority sessions stay visible, along with requests in Needs you.

  6. Folders.

Use a local session’s lower-right folder button to open its working directory in Finder. Cowork has a separate shared-folder action. While Finder stays open, the Island signals that Meeting notes in Codex needs an answer.

  7. Jump.

Open the separate Needs you area above the groups. Select Meeting notes to return to its matching conversation in the Codex app. The question is still awaiting an answer there. Exact destinations depend on the source and available session information; Jump does not answer a request.

Frequently asked questions

Can I monitor Claude and Codex together?

Yes. Sessions from different supported tools appear in the same Island, each with its own name, source and status. Pro shows them together; Free shows one session card at a time.

Which AI tools work with it?

Claude Cowork, recent Claude desktop chats and supported Codex app sessions. Coding integrations include Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Copilot, OpenCode, Cline, Qwen Code, Kimi Code CLI and more.

Available actions vary by tool. Find all connections in Settings. Codex support does not include regular ChatGPT chats.

Do I need a MacBook with a notch?

No. It works with or without a notch, including on external displays. Choose a display in Settings. You’ll need macOS 14 or later.

How do I get started?

Open Cowork Island and follow its permission prompts. You can manage connected tools in Settings. Jump may need Accessibility or Automation permission to select a window or tab.

Can I approve requests and answer questions?

Yes, for supported Claude Code requests. Allow or deny an action, or answer a multiple-choice question in the Island. Other tools may take you back to the app to respond.

Where does Jump take me?

Back to the app or terminal for that session. Supported connections can select its window, tab or pane. Jump doesn’t answer or approve requests. Jump from “Needs you” requires Pro.

Does marking a session Done stop the agent?

No. Done is a mark in your Island list. It doesn’t delete, close or stop the session. A running agent keeps working, and you can remove the mark at any time.

What stays visible in Focus?

Focus shows Working and Priority sessions by default. You can also include Pending in Settings. Requests in “Needs you” stay visible.

Is Free just a trial?

No. Free keeps working with one session card at a time. You can also try Pro for 7 days from the app, without payment details. When the trial ends, the app returns to Free.

What changes with Pro?

Pro shows all your sessions and adds Jump from “Needs you”, detailed usage meters, completion sounds and more mascot options. Compare the plans below.
